Tari Wariebi is a first-generation Liberian, Nigerian American filmmaker from Philadelphia, PA. Based in LA. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, and an AFI Directing Alum.
An award-winning filmmaker, Tari's work has screened in over 60 film festivals. He is a BAFTA Special Jury Prize Winner and a three-time Grand Jury Prize winner at Indy Shorts, Holly Shorts, and Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, respectively.
Tari’s work as a director, writer, and producer has afforded him the opportunity to create original content for various media platforms, including VEVO, Vice, MTV/Paramount, Goodwill Industries, and Vogue, garnering millions of views. Some of Tari’s other writing and directing credits include TV One, BET Centric, and YouTube’s “Com + Well” series featuring artist Common.
As a writer, Tari has been a quarterfinalist at the Slamdance Screenplay Competition, ScreenCraft Film Fund quarterfinalist, and WeScreenplay Finalist.
Most recently, Tari has been developing his feature film, “We Were Meant To,” based on his Oscar-qualifying short film ,which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
